Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the great penitential season of Lent in the Catholic Church. Father Evan Simington, St. Alban's parish priest, will hear confessions at 6:15 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. He will offer Divine Worship (the Ordinariate form of the Catholic Mass) at 7 p.m., and will have the imposition of ashes.
Please remember Ash Wednesday is a day of fast (at minimum, one full meal and two smaller meals that do not equal a full meal), with no snacks in between, and abstinence (no meat). Please approach this season of fasting, not as about fulfilling a rule, but as an invitation from the Church to make sacrifices that prepare your heart and mind to listen more closely to the Lord Jesus, so you can follow him better and glorify him by your life.
"The goodness of God leadeth to repentance: O come, let us adore him!" ~ the Daily Office of the Ordinariate.
